About Us

Coromandel Time Limited was founded by Mark Davis a Devonport lad who now calls Thames on the Coromandel home.

Mark started off making his own range of Kauri clocks calling on his 15 years of experience as a Watch and Clock Maker.

Since launching we now have a range of Clocks, Tide Clocks, Souvenirs and a Clothing Range to represent the unique way of life that comes from living on Coromandel Time

When setting up Coromandel Time we were guided by the values of community, fun and the environment. You will see us supporting Thames Coast Kiwi Care, Pick it up now Coromandel and other sporting groups in the community. If you follow us on social media you will quickly realise we don't take ourselves to seriously as life is to be lived with a smile so we always make sure to add an element of fun into our day. We love to up-cycle old items in our products and everyday life so look out for our retro vinyl LP clocks, reclaimed timber tide clocks, DIY projects and the restoration of our 1969 Volkswagen Beetle.

The design of our logo was first created by Michael Davis, Marks nephew it is a representation of the Coromandel lifestyle and how we fit into it.

Coromandel Time Logo Meaning

The Kowhaiwhai pattern around the border represents the Whenua (land) of the Coromandel and it's Maori heritage.

The white sandy beach and blue ocean represents the seaside lifestyle of the Coromandel which we enjoy for fishing, surfing, swimming.

The Pohutakawa know as the New Zealand's Christmas tree which hangs to the cliff faces providing shade to relax under the beach.

The mountain ranges of the Coromandel Peninsula which were once full of the mighty Kauri and the call of Kiwi birds. We desire to see the sound of kiwi return to the wild and honour the fallen Kauri by recreating objects of beauty with this majestic timber.

The sun rising over the hills with a clock face to represent the dawning sun, the youthfulness of Aotearoa as a country and our business which is only just beginning.

We have a range of products allowing locals and visitors alike to represent our fantastic Coromandel lifestyle.
